Exercise: Military Press
Set 1 120 lbs 8 Reps
Set 2 125 lbs 6 Reps
Set 3 130 lbs 4 Reps
Set 4 135 lbs 2 Reps

The technique you described is unfortunately seldom used. The technique will build strength by adding weight every set, but is mostly used to build muscle mass. This is the best technique for hard gainers, and in 3 to 4 months all of a sudden the muscles explode. This technique will increase your appetite, so if you don't want to get massive, watch your calorie intake and carbs.

The reason is that 2-8 reps per set is considered low, and the weight used seems to point towards a 'heavy weight, low reps' routine, which is widely known to build muscle mass.
